How to choose room size / distance?

If you are going to buy a projector or if you already have a projector, then according to that you can assess the size of the image from a certain distance. Distance here means the distance between your projector and wall or screen. You can extract the size of the image by dividing the distance from the projector’s throw ratio. For example, if the projector is kept 10 feet away from the screen and its throw ratio is 1.8 to 2.22, then you get the image size from 54 inches to 66 inches. To avoid image pixels, make sure that the distance between you and the screen should be at least double by the width of the image. Many projector manufacturers, such as BenQ, Epson, Panasonic and Viconic, provide a distance calculator on their website so that they can easily fix placement spots for them.

DLP or LCD or LED projector

These are three different technologies. DLP (Digital Light Processing) uses a small microscopic mirror chip. Also, there is also a spinning color veal in it. DLP provides sharp images, its response time is even better, and it also has the ability to have 3D output. It supports both proactive and passive projection. Some people find color bending in DLP. Liquid crystal displays are used in LCD projectors. They do not have any moving parts and because of this they are usually less expensive. Better saturation, less noise is available in LCD and they work much better in large venues. However, their filter needs maintenance and they have low contrast. LED projectors usually use very small LEDs and their life span is more than 20,000 hours. They deliver better colors, as well as have less power consoles and in some ways they have a Maintenance Cost Zero. LED projectors are smaller than LCD or DLP. Less heat comes out in LED projectors, but remember one thing that brightness is limited in LED projectors compared to LCD or DLP projectors.

Pocket Projectors

In Pocket or Pico Projectors, the LED is used as a light source, due to which it becomes quite compact. They can be kept in the trousers pocket. Most Pico projectors are of Palm size. They can also be integrated with mobile phones (Samsung Galaxy Beam) or Handheld Digital Camera (Nikon S 1000 PJ). However, these projectors do not offer much resolution or brightness. In this case, they are considered more favorable for small and dark rooms. You can choose the screen size up to 60 inches and you can connect your smartphone, gaming consoles and laptops to these. Some designs also have built-in Android operating systems, internal memory and rechargeable batteries. Despite all this, the weight of these devices is less than 500 grams.

Wall or screen

You can choose wall instead of screen, but the projector is not able to perform better on this. The screen is much better than the wall. Some screens reflect more light. It performs well in high lighted rooms or the result is good when your projector has less brightness. Screens can also be placed in front of the rest of the objects. Some people say that black borders around the screens also raise the contrast. This improves the image. In addition, there is a right shade of white and gray in the screens, which eliminates the problem of color cast. If you use the wall, then it should be quite smoother and have a completely white paint. You can paint this special acrylic reflective for projectors.

Tips

The correct placement of the projector is most important. If this is not possible due to obstacles in the room, then only get help with Digital Correction.

Some high-end projectors come with lens-shift dials. It is a physical rail, which shifts the lens up, down and side and lets the image move around. Definitely it achieves flexibility in projector placement.

The arrangement of the sealing mount projector is better, because once it is set up, its shifting diminishes. This also keeps the projector at a distance far from the viewer, so that the fan noise also feels less.

Understanding the things related to the projector

If the projector is not exactly vertical of the screen, the resulting image will not be completely square. This is called keystoneing or keystore error. Most projectors offer digital vertical and horizontal keystone correction.
